10-21-05--Bob Allenbert, Manchester, UK, bob221[at]hotmail.com, Comments: After visiting Kimball in Sept 2004, and again in Nov. 2004, I can say returning to Kimball in 2005 will be greatly rewarding. Even though I only lived in Kimball for a very short time (I was the 30th baby born in the new Kimball hospital in 1950 and live in Kimball for the first six weeks of my life) I have visited Kimball many times since then visiting relatives (grandfather Dr John Pinkerton, Aunt & Uncle Carol and Bob Pinkerton & Cousins) but my visit in Sept/Nov 2004 was by far the best. Falling in love with Kimball in Sept, my wife and I returned in Nov 2004 and purchased a house. We plan on relocating to Kimball in the spring/summer of 2005 and joining the wonderful community. http://conditionerworld.info

10-15-05--Fran Goble, Victoria, Tx, USA, fran2468[at]sbcglobal.net, Comments: I was just browsing your website to find out a little about my son's new home. He moved there, just this last week, and seemed so happy to be there that it made me want to know more about your community. (I read the history of Bushnell on your site and am wondering if it is still referred to as a village.) I'm writing from the coast of Texas and am anxious to visit when the opportunity presents itself. I've already heard very positive things about the community. Fran Goble

10-14-05--Erin Wencel, Lincoln/NE, tootsie537[at]alltel.net

10-14-05--DON SHARP, KIMBALL, NE, sterlingopportunity[at]earthlink.net, Comments: I hear around town that Kimball must specify a choice for location of Visitor's Center by end of the year. And it is October 13th today. Not much time left! Surely Kimball is not going to forfeit naming a desired location.

07-10-05--Wendy Erickson (Wolforth), Cody, WY, USA, chrisje[at]trib.com, Comments: I am requesting information regarding the fun run on Farmer's day. Is it still approximately 5 miles up around the baseball fields? I was thinking of participating if my knee holds up. Could it be possible to e-mail an entry? I am also assuming Farmers day is the last weekend in September. Please advise me. Thanks.

06-23-05--Cindy (Mowry) Theimer, Colby, KS, USA, ksmom58[at]yahoo.com, Comments: I grew up in and around Kimball in grade school and jr. high days. Graduated from High school in KS in 1976. My parents were Tom and Marg Mowry. I had one sister , Lisa. Was just checking out the website and guestbook. A lot of the names still ring a bell and the pics I found are great. Brings back memories.

06-19-05--David Meck, Vine Grove, KY, davidmeck[at]yahoo.com, Comments: I am the son of Esther Bushnell. I have been doing some genealogy work lately and came across your site. Did you know my Great great Uncle Cornelius also financed the Union Ship Monitor. He lost money on that deal because after the battle with the Merrimac, the Monitor foundered while returning to port. She was actually conducting sea trials when the battle with the Merrimac occurred. After successful completion of the sea trials the Navy was to buy the ship. Cornelius bought the bankrupt railroad in New York that became the Union Pacific. I believe he is in the historic picture at Promontory Point, Utah at the Golden Spike ceremony. One of his/our ancestors was David Bushnell, he built the submarine Turtle and tried to sink the English ship in Boston harbor during the Revolutionary War. That failed because his brother who was trained to operate the submarine was sick so a Sergeant tried to do it instead

As we observe this 4th of July. We should remember not only the ones that gave the last full measure to insure our democracy but, also those that had vision, and helped to build this country and inspire some one to found a peaceful little town in Nebraska, named Bushnell.

06-16-05--Milt Schultz, Anaheim, CA, USA, flightready[at]adelphia.net, Comments: I was raised on a farm north of Morrill. In 1954 the family relocated to Oregon for 5 years and then onto California. There are many experiences which I cherish from Nebraska, by which I'm considering retirement to the slower pace of living and the Mid West culture.

04-05-05--Joan Kimball, Illinois, jkqdc[at]aol.com, Comments: Have you ever thought about having a Kimball gathering in Kimball? You could have your State Tourism Office do an advertisement..."Calling all Kimballs!" Might be an interesting way for all of those Kimballs who seem to be looking for long lost family lines to finally meet and share their stories? Food for thought...

03-11-05-- Roy J. Durso, Cocoa, FL, USA, rdurso[at]cfl.rr.com, Comments: I lived in Kimball with my family and was one of the missile workers. We had a vehicle dispatch area in Kimball. I was a very good friend with Paul Love who did body and fender repair work in the Chevrolet garage. We were both ham radio operators. Paul passed away approximately 10 years ago. My wife (Elinor) was a substitute school teacher at the elementary school. We rented an apartment which was within walking distance from the school. I have fond memories of the friends we knew in Kimball and someday I hope to visit again. Save a missile silo for me! - Roy J. Durso

03-07-05--Lisa Jablonski, North Haledon, New Jersey 07508, USA, lisa.jablonski[at]gmail.com, Comments:
Hello! I came across the Kimball, Nebraska site when doing an online search for my Great Great Uncle named Edwin Core. He was born in the United States (either in Jersey City, NJ or NYC) and was of Irish ancestry. What I do know about him was that he was a medical doctor and worked in a hospital in Kimball, Nebraska. His sister, Loretta Core, has made a painting of the wheat fields of Nebraska (the back of the painting specifically says Kimball) which my family has now. I am 22 years old and would appreciate any information anybody in Kimball might have in relation to this relative. Thank you!

01-08-05--Ron Murdock, Yuba City, CA, USA, w6kj[at]arrl.net, Comments: In 1967, during a trip across the country (from Michigan to my home state of California) my family and I stopped for the night in Kimball. Every town on the highway in those days warned travelers not to camp in their town...until we got to Kimball. Since I was pulling a 16 foot Yellowstone self-contained trailer, we had to have a parking place for rest each night. Kimball invited us to stay, and I will never forget it. We stayed in the park that night, shopped in the grocery store the next morning and stopped again on our return to Michigan. Since then, we have stopped several times, without the trailer (now long gone and replaced 10 years ago with a motor home) just to make sure you were still there. We wish you all the best.

01-08-05--Ed Ponist, East Lansing MI, USA, arkcrystals[at]hotmail.com, Comments: I'm writing a novel- and I'm interested in your wheat farming in SW Nebraska- notably: are the people who run the farms there family owned through generations? Is it rare to find outsiders buying out farms? Would it be easy to actually buy out wheat farms there? How controlled is the wheat industry, is it very regulated. E. ponist
