9-13-98--Suzanne (Meyer) Norton, Youngest daughter of Mr. Meyer, Leoti, Kansas, sjnorton@altavista.net, Comments: Hello to all. Not only do I really like Kimball’s site, I think this Guest Book makes a great public bulletin board. As the year 1999 approaches, it is now time to begin thinking about the reunion for the Class of 1989. Which by the way, was the first class to graduate from KHS (rather than KCHS.) Will this year’s graduates be from KJ-SHS?

Anyway, scheduling the ’89 reunion to coincide with the 2nd All-School Reunion in July 1999 may be a good choice. To all my classmates and friends of our class, (as well as anyone involved in the planning of the All-School Reunion) please let me know your thoughts and we’ll get our plans underway.

Also, my husband Taner (like Tanner) and I are hoping to relocate to the area in the next few months, so if anyone hears of opportunities for a builder/finish carpenter (Taner) or an intern architect (me,) please let us know. Thanks!

This note is just to say "hello" and that I like what I saw on your web site. I really do miss some things about western Nebraska. The violent thunderstorms are NOT among them, but the people and way of life are.

I went to CSC and Brooks College for Interior Design in Long Beach, CA. I married Mark Gerardi in 1985, and we have an Invitro daughter, Genae, age 7. We now reside in Highlands Ranch, CO. 5-3-98--Robert James Kimball, New Brunswick, Canada, gkimball@nbnet.nb.ca, Comments: I haven't been to your city but my surname is Kimball and I was interested in who founded Kimball Nebraska and why the name seems to be so popular in your town and if I my be related to some of your citizens .

5-2-98--Tom O'Brien, St. Louis, MO, USA, Tomsings98@aol.com, Comments: Dear people of Kimball, First of all, great website Bill!! For those of you who don't know me, I'm the long lost son of Jim and Pat O'Brien. I finally got a computer this past Christmas and have been online for the past several months. I found this site before, but didn't realize there was a guest book. It's so cool to see what other residents, former residents, and even non-residents have to say about our fine burg. It's also nice to find some familiar names and web addresses to write to! I am still in St. Louis with my wife, Karen and our menagerie of dogs, cats, fish, and turtles. Karen is a keeper in the elephant house of the zoo here, and I am still singing with the a-cappella group "Pieces of 8". I'm told we might even be coming to sing in Kimball next fall, but I don't have a definite confirmation on that yet. If it happens, it will be thanks to Fredene Pietsch and I will be very happy. I hope to see a full house when we come!!! I don't get home much these days, but I'm looking forward to coming home sometime this summer to see the fam. and play some GOLF. Can't wait to get back on that beautiful 18 hole course! Anyway, I look forward to e-mailing those of you that I know, and I hope to hear from anyone who wishes to e-mail me! Take care Kimball!! I miss ya!

4-21-98--John & Suny Moore, Thornton, Colorado, USA, jiminii@juno.com, Comments: I had the opportunity to visit with Dr. Charles (Chuck) Allen this morning who referred me to the Kimball WEB page. I usually do not spend much time on the WEB here at work because I just don't have the time. However, this is really interesting. Suny and I have kept up a bit with the Kimball Group "e" mails. Many of you I recall, but some of you I don't remember. Of course, you are MUCH younger than I. Hope to see you all at the 1999 All School Reunion.

4-19-98--Robert G. Swan, Beverly, MA. 01915, USA, Robert_Swan@prenhall.com, Comments: Hello from -- Bob Swan:

I am looking forward to visiting Kimball, Nebraska in mid June ! This is my third visit to the Kimball Guest Book -- I enjoy reading the commentaries logged into the " Guest Book. " During my visit to Kimball, NE. I am planning to explore the Real Estate market -- looking at single family ( ranch style ) homes -- and any condos that may be available. The price range would be in the upper end of the market. I am planning to retire for College Teaching within the next two to three years and I am looking forward to retiring to the Western Nebraska panhandle area. As I have previously indicated, Nebraska appeals to me -- Why ?

* The laid back life style -- slower pace, NO TRAFFIC and the small town community flavor. GREAT !!!!!
* I want to expand, and enjoy, my antique auto collection -- Nebraska offers great roads and plenty of wide open spaces to drive and enjoy driving the antique/collector cars ! Nebraska offers some of the BEST ROADS to drive on -- that I have ever seen -- minimal traffic and great road conditions !
* The location: great access to Cheyenne - Denver - and the Nebraska panhandle - along with the other parts of Nebraska.
Help: I will be looking for storage for about a dozen ( plus ) " show-room " collector vehicles -- are there any storage facilities or buildings available for this purpose ?

Thank you for any referrals and suggestions !

Best,
Bob Swan

I am a Kimball graduate with two grown children, Willie & Kelli, a daughter-in-law Missy and a granddaughter, Montana Rose Spries. My husband, Dave Schwindt, & I live west of Kimball on a working dairy farm. My son's family lives down the road from us on the original homestead of Dave's parents and Kelli is in Denver. Dave was born and raised in the dairy farming business and I am an Oklahoma transplant. We enjoy the small town of Kimball and knowing our neighbors. We stay overly busy with the dairy and the spoiling of our Paso Fino horses, but if you are in the neighborhood, we always have time for a visit. We love our country life!

4-11-98--Robert G. Swan, Beverly, MA. 01915, USA, Robert_Swan@prenhall.com, Comments: Hello from -- Bob Swan: This is my second "visit" to the Kimball, NE. guest-book. I am a College Professor - planning to retire within the next two to three years. ( early retirement, age: early 50's ) I am planning to visit Kimball, Nebraska in June -- I am planning to relocate in Kimball within the next couple of years - upon my retirement.
The reasons:
* The lifestyle -- laid back -- great !
* The small town environment -- great !
* Western Nebraska appeals to me -- wide open spaces, yet many things to do. The panhandle / Scottsbluff area is great ! The High Plains vistas are very peaceful and relaxing - offering a " slower more relaxed pace to life." I look forward to getting away from the traffic, the urban hassles and the congestion of the Northeastern part of the Country !
* I am an antique automobile collector -- Kimball offers the antique auto collector many benefits -- great roads and wide open spaces to drive and enjoy " vintage vehicles" -- NO TRAFFIC HASSLES ! I have 10 vintage Fords/Mercurys/Lincolns in my antique auto collection. ( 1950's thru 1970's ) * Excellent value for the money in terms of Real Estate !
* Great access -- right off I-80 ! I have passed thru - and have visited - Kimball, NE. many times over the years -- travelling East and/or West on 1-80. I lived in the Omaha, Nebraska area in the mid 1970's -- enjoyed living their very much -- I am looking forward to returning to Nebraska.
